Rosie's Disappearing Act

The arrival of the scaffolders yesterday triggered a disappearing cat act from Rosie.

Once all was quiet on the home front, Rosie could not be found anywhere; until she chose to be found.

Where was she?

Hiding underneath the stairs, in a small cupboard where the washing machine is housed.

When a cat wants to hide, it certainly does a good job!

Hodge - The Southwark Cathedral Cat

As per the Dean of Southwark:

"For the past couple of months Hodge has been getting acquainted with us and his new home. He has a voracious appetite both for food and love. He is either waiting for more food or rolling on to his back inviting tickles on his tummy. Leave the brocade vestments uncovered and he is immediately onto them enjoying the feel of expensive fabric! Everyone who comes in is immediately smitten; he is adorable."

Rosie's New Bed

For reasons that escape me, we have purchased and I have constructed, a new bed for Rosie (even though she has many places around the house that she likes to sleep).

At first she was a little reluctant.

Now she loves it!

Happy National Black Cat Day - #BlackCatDay

What is National Black Cat Day?

National Black Cat Day was created by Cats Protection on 27 October 2011 to help celebrate the majesty of monochrome moggies and beautiful black cats. When the campaign was launched, statistics revealed that black and black-and-white cats took, on average, seven days longer to find a home compared to cats of other colours.

Celebrating 10 years of Black Cat Day

Years later, we're still celebrating black cats in all their glory - although our campaigning has now paid off! Black and black-and-white cats now spend less time in our care than when we started promoting the campaign, resulting in thousands of happy cats and owners.

Each year, we get huge numbers of cat-lovers engaging with our #BlackCatDay hashtag on social media and best of all, we get to see how beloved black cats and black-and-white cats have made a real impression on their owner's lives.
