Daisy's Annual Visit To The Vet

 

Daisy had her annual visit to the vet today, she was fit and healthy.

On her way back through the park, she met Tiger (who is a well known local cat).

Just rescued another mouse from the basement hall. This makes the 14th (alive/dead) mouse that Daisy has brought in this year so far.

Daisy has now taken up sentry watch in the basement hall on the laundry bag; blissfully unaware that the mouse was rescued and last seen trotting down road.

Seagull Rescued

 

High drama today, as a fledgling seagull had fallen off a roof and was stranded in the garden overnight.

Daisy studied the bird intently. However, in the end decided it was a bit too big to eat and therefore carried on with her normal routine and left it to its own devices in the garden.

A volunteer from The South Coast Bird Volunteer Network came round this morning to trap the bird, who then ran through the cat hole in the fence to our neighbours. Fortunately they were in, and the bird was rescued from their garden.

It was then put back on our roof, via my office window, where it walked across to find its mother.

Schroedinger's Mouse

 

Following on from last Monday's mouse alert, when one ran past me in the kitchen, it has not been seen since.

Therefore it is either lying on its back with its paws in the air behind the fridge, or it has taken up residence in the house.

In the event of the latter I will be naming it Erwin!

Mouse Alert!

 

Daisy has, at some stage in the last 24 hours, brought another mouse into the house.

 

I know this because it ran past me in the kitchen this morning, and is now hiding around the wine racks.

 

I will let you know if I am able to locate and rescue it, before Daisy does.

Mouse Update

Following on from yesterday morning, when Daisy cornered a mouse under the washing machine, in the early evening the mouse had ventured out and was then chased by Daisy into the kitchen where I managed to extract the mouse from Daisy's mouth and place it alive and safe in the garden.

However, a few hours later upon returning from the pub we found Daisy in the kitchen playing with another mouse. Fortunately, I was able to rescue this one as well.

Daisy is resting today, after her exertions of yesterday!

Mouse Watch

 

Over the last couple of weeks Daisy has taken to bringing in field mice in her mouth.

Three of them were dead by the time we saw her. However, today a live one was brought in and is currently hiding behind the washing machine under the basement stairs.

Efforts will be made to save the mouse if it emerges. However, I don't give much for its chances!

There were shenanigans aplenty this weekend, when Daisy let her chum Aslan in through the microchip cat flap and he decided to take up residence in her bed!

Fortunately order was soon restored, he left and Daisy reclaimed her bad.
