Facebook Group for Cats Possibly Affected By Felix Cat Food
On Facebook a group has recently been set up (June 2021) for cat owners whose cats may have had a negative reaction (eg vomiting) to Felix cat food.
As per the group:
"Hi, we have started this group to find other people who’s cats/kittens have gotten sick or refused to eat the new version of Felix cat food. This page is without prejudice towards Purina, we just want to find out why so many cats won’t eat it now and what has been changed to the recipe apart from Purina removing the colourants that they insist is the only change they have made."
Disregarding Felix, if you are worried that the pet food that you feed your cat may have caused a negative reaction, apart from checking with your cat's vet, you can also report the potential issue via:
-Trading Standards
-Citizens Advice, or
-The Food Standards Agency via this link

URGENT - Cat Food Recall
Fold Hill Foods is voluntarily recalling a number of its hypoallergenic cat food products, from brands including Applaws, AVA and Sainsbury’s, over a possible link to an outbreak of a potentially fatal condition, feline pancytopenia.
The manufacturer has taken this precautionary measure after the Royal Veterinary College reported a sudden increase in cases of severe feline pancytopenia.
An investigation into what’s caused this spike is ongoing. Pancytopenia is a very rare condition wherein the number of blood cells rapidly decreases, causing serious illness and can often prove fatal.

Cats - Nature's Most Efficacious Alarm Clocks
Hat tip and kudos to Rosie for ensuring we were woken up at 4.30 this morning.
Instead of the normal purring and patting, she decided the best method was to throw up on the bed!
